METAMOPHOSIS
Bronze, 1985, 310 cm high,
Sörbyängen, Sweden

Figure in a water basin with fountain. A commisson that also included three 1 meter high white marble basins.

"Pool, water, root, trunk growing into a woman, back to the crown of a tree, clouds, rain falling from the cloud into the pool, the cyclical nature of the universe.

First sketches of a tree, an angel emerging from the ashes, the gigantic ash tree Yggdrasil of Norse mythology, the ash trees at the entrance to where I lived and back to earth: metamorphosis.

My longing for freedom, the unbroken horizon, the long voyages on 6/S 80 "Ängel" I built myself. The interplay of wind, waves, currents, boat and human. Being on one’s way, that wonderful feeling when the plane takes off." RB
